I’m an Iowan, born and raised. I live and work here, and love it! My wife and 2 children seem to love it as well. I will never leave Iowa. You can get anywhere from here.
I have loved taking photographs for as long as I can remember. My parents gave me my first camera and darkroom (bathroom) equipment when I was about 12 years old. I was hooked.
Being a child of the television generation also had an impact. My first paying gig was for KCCI television in Des Moines. I was given the opportunity to put down the still camera and picked up a video camera and worked my way through Iowa State University shooting news footage. I liked it so much I stuck with it for 13 years. It´s amazing how much you can learn by meeting and working with different people coming from all walks of life.
I left local television to start my own production company, Professional Video Incorporated, in 1994. Now I work on everything from network news, commercial and corporate production to weekly television programming. It’s how I make my living to this day.
The new digital lifestyle has taken me back to landscape photography. No longer do I have to deal with a messy bathroom that smelled of old darkroom chemicals, instead it’s a digital camera and a personal computer.
I enjoy traveling and shooting the most dramatic locations our country has to offer. I simply love color landscape, the more color the better. You may have noticed this.
I hope you enjoy my photographs!
